She started her volunteer work in 1982 at the Catholic school where her children attended (her grandchildren have attended as well). Donna retired in 2009 after a 30 year career adventure working for the Japanese giant, Hitachi. She calls it an adventure since she was a woman working for a company that was a very traditional Japanese male dominated senior management. She gained a lot of on the job training, starting as an order entry clerk, and retired as a Senior Department Manager. She worked in Order Entry, Accts Receivable & Payable, Budget Control, Advertising, Trade Show, Fleet Leasing Management and Facilities. Donna was given several special assignments: writing a 25 year history book of the company, organizing several international trade shows for the parent company in Japan, and was appointed liaison with outside vendors and contractors for the construction build out of a 64,000 sq ft office building. Donna was appointed to the Board in April, 2019.

Robie was involved in fire sprinkler construction, computer room build-outs, masonry, electrical (both residential and public works) and her favorite – the paving and grading industry where she worked on both public and private works projects.
