RioVision was founded in 2013 as a community-based non-profit organization with the mission of joining together to build, revitalize, energize and beautify the Rio Vista community.  The organization was launched when the Rio Vista community received an award from the   American Institute of Architects (AIA) for a Regional Urban Design Assistance Team (R/UDAT) project.  A team that included an architect, an urban planner, a transportation planner, a development director, a designer, a landscape architect, a community organizer, AIA staff and a dozen volunteer students from local colleges, worked intensively for five days in February 2014 with members of the Rio Vista community.  They studied reams of previous planning efforts for the city, held two very well-attended town hall community meetings, and created a report that became the blueprint for RioVision’s efforts and activities.  This report may be found here:

RioVision is an all-volunteer grassroots organization where the ideas, creativity and energy of Rio Vista residents are turned into actions, projects, programs and events that improve lives and the physical and social environment.  RioVision seeks constantly to work together with service clubs, other non-profits, businesses, and the City of Rio Vista to make these improvements.  Donations to RioVision are tax deductible.
